Reactive Dog Group Class (Beginners)
Get your dog feeling relaxed about other people and dogs
More Information
This is a group session, capped at 3 attendees, where reactive dog owners can practise their training around other people and dogs in a safe and controlled environment. If you haven't come to one of our classes before, please book the 'Beginners' classes (this one), and we'll let you know when you can graduate to our 'Improvers' classes. We will start the class with a quick introduction, humans only, in the car park, before then leading you through to the field, one-by-one, for the session. These beginner sessions are all about getting your dog comfortable in the field, with dogs and people in the distance. We'll explore some foundational exercises to help boost your dog's confidence, calmness, and focus on you, so you can successfully move to our Improvers classes when your dog is ready. The session will officially end after 45 minutes, allowing you and your dog to calmly return to the car. Water will be available, but please bring plenty of your own high-value treats, toys, and poo bags. You are also required to check your equipment for any weak parts or fraying ahead of time - spare equipment will be available should you need it. Dogs will need to have at least two points of attachment to you at all times (e.g. a two-point harness, or a harness and collar). Double-ended leads are therefore encouraged. We may allow you to use a long-line in class, but this will be at our discretion. We will also provide you with a wrist strap to wear and attach to your dog's lead, which prevents any accidents should someone drop their lead. If you are unsure of what equipment to use, please bring your dog on their usual collar, harness and/or lead, and we can discuss this with you prior to class. Don't forget! You can save yourself money by purchasing our 4-session package, and get 4 sessions for the price of 3!
